Mine looks brand new with the exception of a couple minor scratches on the plastic. I got mine remanufactured (new casters, gas cylinder, arm pads, fabric) with a 12 year warranty from Crandall Office ( u/cranda58 on Reddit) for $450, which is far less expensive than the $1000+ price of a new one. They are expensive, but can be had used or remanufactured at a great price. I bought a Steelcase Leap V2, which I personally recommend. While high quality office chairs from brands such as Herman Miller and Steelcase are expensive, it is a worthwhile investment if it means no back pain. Now that many of us are working from home, it is especially important to have a comfortable, supportive chair at home.
